SCREENINGS: ‘The Power Was With Us: Idle No More’

📢 📽 Attention WINNIPEG: Get ready for a special, free screening of The Power Was With Us: Idle No More, the feature-length APTN News documentary chronicling the movement’s dramatic emergence back in December 2012, a way to commemorate this historic moment one decade later.

Directed and produced by MEDIA INDIGENA’s own Rick Harp and MI-friend-for-life Tim Fontaine for APTN News, both creators will be on hand for post-screening discussions for what will be unprecedented live audience presentations of the documentary!

APTN National News is proud to present this sweeping retrospective of INM, the result of the amazing financial and in-kind support of the Winnipeg Film Group, the Exchange District Biz, the University of Manitoba Centre for Human Rights Research, and its academic partners at the University of Winnipeg.

Again, tickets are free, yet limited, so reserve yours now here.

Previous in-person screenings of the film include Toronto and Ottawa. Thanks go out to our Tkaronto friends at the Yellowhead Institute, the Saagajiwe Interdisciplinary Centre for Indigenous Research and Creation, along with the Journalism and Sociology departments at Toronto Metropolitan University. Meanwhile, supporters in unceded Algonquin territory included Carleton University’s School of Journalism and Communication, along with support from Carleton’s Institute of Criminology and Criminal Justice.

Hope to see you in Winnipeg!
